The following candidates responded to our candidate survey in support of Education Savings Accounts in Wyoming without undue government interference in the curriculum.

ESAs

Educational Savings Accounts

Education savings accounts (ESAs) in K-12 education establish for parents a publicly funded, government-authorized savings account with restricted, but multiple uses for educational purposes.

Parents may use the funds to pay for expenses, including school tuition, tutoring, online education programs, therapies for students with special needs, textbooks or other instructional materials, and sometimes, save for college.

With Wyoming's approval of new Education Savings Accounts law this year, we join 29 states that have some form of ESA, education choice tax credit, or education tax scholarship.

Unfortunately, restrictive portions of the new law, limit ESAs for many Wyoming families. Parents who get a raise at work or pick up overtime could lose their ESA and have to pull their children out of their new school.

Outrider PAC is helping raise awareness of this important issue and the lawmakers who support changes to expand ESAs for all Wyoming families!

ESA’s save Wyoming taxpayers money by allowing parents to send their students to a school that already has capacity versus building a brand-new school.
